“Yeah, I was just on the phone with her,” Yixing tells Fan, rolling over on her side to finally shut her music off and reach for her bag on the floor. Baekhyun’s homework can’t wait any longer.
The bag is a little further away than Yixing thought and she almost falls off the bed reaching for it, foot hitting the ground as she finally grasps the pages.
“Did she tell you everything?” Fan questions, and Yixing can almost hear the worry fall over his features, drawing his thick eyebrows together and putting the most adorable pout on his lips.
Rolling her eyes, Yixing answers, “Calm yourself, she’s a quiet one.” She signs out of her university portal and signs back in under Baekhyun’s name. The password is something stupid and summer related. “So I guess the rumors about you being an animal in bed aren’t true?” Yixing teases with a smirk, even though Fan can’t see her.
“Yixing,” Fan starts with a warning tone in his voice that only serves to make Yixing laugh. “I…I actually care for her.”
Wait, what. Yixing stops laughing and listens. Fan is actually starting to sound more serious.
“It’s like I’ve been working on myself for the longest time and I was just looking for the last part of me that I needed.”
There’s a quiet pause as Yixing restrains herself from speaking. This is an important moment and she doesn’t want to ruin it by making a sarcastic remark about Fan and his commitment issues, especially since they seem to be so nonexistent at the moment.
“I think I love Zitao.” Pause, again. “No, I’m pretty sure I love Zitao,” Fan says.
